Dog Registration

The City of Delano requires that your dog be registered as soon as it is six months old. Registration can be done on-line or in person at Delano City Hall, 234 2nd Street North. Proof of rabies vaccination must be provided at the time of registration. The City of Delano Code limits households to two dogs over the age of six months.

Benefits:

Registration of your dog with the City of Delano is completely free, easy to get and good for your dog. If your dog is lost, the City registration helps locate the owners. Registration of your dog also saves in additional non-registered fees in the event your dog is picked up by a City Official and impounded.

Registration:

There is no charge to register your dog with the City of Delano. You can register on-line or in person at Delano City Hall during normal business hours. Registration will be required on an annual basis, by June 30th of each year. Your dog will keep its orignal registration tag and registration number. If your tag becomes lost or damaged; replacement tags can be purchased through the City of Delano at a cost of $5.00

Registration tags must be worn at all times when off the owners property.

Rabies Vaccination

All dogs over six months old that reside within the City of Delano are required to have current rabies vaccination. Animals are not required to wear a rabies tag, but verification of current rabies vaccination by a licensed veterinarian should be available upon request.

Spaying or Neutering

Spaying or neutering your pet is one way you can help to reduce the number of animals that must be euthanized each year. Contact your veterinarian for more information.
