Update No. 4 - June 20

Public Works crews have finished constructing temporary levees in three areas of town today, as mentioned in previous posts. Thanks to the MANY community members who helped out in various ways today. There truly is a great "spirit of community" in Delano!

Tomorrow will be another important day, as river levels are expected to continue to rise. The City expects it will need to close Bridge Avenue between Highway 12 and River Street sometime in the afternoon. The City will post updates again tomorrow as the flood event continues to unfold. Public Works crews will be closing gaps in existing levees tomorrow and continue to work around the clock to keep pumping stations operating.

Lastly, those who are heading downtown to get a first-hand look at the river, please be careful. The water is moving very fast and is very dangerous! Please stay back and keep children in hand.
