Commission Openings

The City of Delano has vacancies on the following commissions beginning January 1, 2011:

Park and Recreation Commission This group provides study and recommendations to the City Council on a wide-array of park issues.  The Committee has been critical to the playground and ball field developments at Central Park and has much more work to complete in the years to come.	Two Vacancies
Planning Commission This Commission plays a vital role in growth-related activities of the City.  It reviews development/zoning applications and recommends implementation of the City's Comprehensive Plan to the City	Two  Vacancies
Public Safety Commission Reviews and provides recommendations on many aspects of safety around the City, from police and fire services to transportation issues.	Two  Vacancies
Water, Light and Power Commission This Commission operates and directs the City water and electric utilities.	Two Vacancies
Historic Preservation Committee This group works with the Delano Franklin Historical Society to operate the Heritage Center and preserve the history of the area.	Three Vacancies

If you would like to serve your community and work with the City of Delano on any of the above commissions, please contact City Hall at 763 972-0550 for an application.  The Council will consider all applications at their December 20th meeting.  Applications will be accepted until December 15, 2010.
